Republic Day on 26thJanuary 2006 | |

The Republic day of India was celebrated with all pomp and glory this year too in the AEJC ground. It started at 9.00 AM sharp with the chief guest Mr.C.Hiremath, CE, Heavy Water Board, hoisting the tricoloured national flag. The band played the National Anthem in their flutes for which the gathering rendered their voices. Soon the Republic day parade started, three contingents of scouts and Guides and NCC followed by 5 contingents of AEC Schools and one batch of Junior college, Anushakti Nagar, Mumbai took part in the March past parade. The representatives from armed forces evaluated and awarded the March past trophy to AEJC. Shri.S.Muralidhar, Chairman, LMC welcomed the gathering. Cultural programmes depicting patriotism, tableaus aerobics, lazim display dances from different regions of our country (puppet dance, tappoli dance) and various formations with colourful costumes and national flag mesmerised the crowd. At the end of the cultural feast, Dr.S.P.Garg, Chairman, AEES, Dr.Mehrotra, Secretary addressed the public gathered in brief. All the best scorers (overall performers) from class I to XII from various centres were jubilant to receive a citation and award from Chief Guest. The Vikram Sarabhai trophy award for best junior college went to AECS-2, Kalpakkam and the most progressive junior college trophy to AECS, Kakrapar. After presenting all the trophies Mr.C.Hiremath in his address highlighted the areas of growth and stressed the need for further amelioration. The host Principal, Mr.I.K.Bajaj thanked the gathering. All the guests and teachers joined the hi-tea at AEJC Hall.

MBU List 2005-06 | |

The newly incepted teachers' test is conducted twice a year and it is one of the criterian for Merit Based Upgradation (MBU). The MBU is effected considering the three factors - Seniority, Annual Confidence Report (ACR) and Teachers Test (TT). This year the MBU list is already out with 43 teachers being selected for senior scale and selection grade before their due time, Seven teachers from PGT, 21 teachers from TGT and 14 teachers from PRT. The annual AEES sports meet for the year 2005-06 was held in Mumbai during the last week of December. All AEC Schools were participated in four different zones like EAST, SOUTH, NORTH and WEST. Arts Exhibition for the current session was inaugurated by the Chairman Dr.S.P.Garg at Atomic Energy Junior College, Mumbai. It coincided with the Principal's Conference and hence all the principals too visited the venue. It was kept opened for the visitors too on the second day. The portfolio of paintings by AECS children from all across the nation was exhibited. Mrs.Shobha Dove, HAU, had made all arrangements and Mr.Dhalabh was in-charge of the Art Exhibition with the coordination of all the Art teachers of Mumbai. The paintings ranging from water color, sketching, pencil drawing and crayon works all were quite pleasing to one's eyes and bewitching in beauty. Group wise evaluation was done and prizes for the selected were sent through the respective Principal of the centre/school. | |
Nature Club Activities | |

As a part of Nature club activities, 218 Nature Club Members appeared for the Green Olympiad-2005 written examination conducted by TERI (The Energy Resources Institute). As a team, AECS, Mumbai qualified for the TERRA Quiz-2005 competition. Two of the members were selected to participate in the TERRA Quiz Competition which was recorded at Delhi. The students were the Semi-finalists at the International level. They won a trophy for the organization and were individually awarded certificates and a cash prize of Rs.5,000/- each. The 13-episode programme will be relayed on DD-1 from the 24th December 2005, every Saturday at 10.30 a.m. | |
Inter AECS Music Competition 2005 | |

The maiden edition of the Inter AECS Music competition for the academic year 2005-06 took place on the 27th and 28th of October 2005. Overall 16 teams representing different centres participated in the events . The two day fest saw tough challanges and excellent efforts taken by students participants to exhibit their inherent talents. It also had on the dias versatile personalities of great repute giving their verdics for various events.
The overall trophy was won by Rawathbhata team. Congratulations to all the members of the team.
