AEES Examination policy
In the course of the year 4 Unit tests
of 25 marks each will be held for classes VI to VIII. Classes IX & X will follow
Test Series system. Primary Classes will have 2 Unit Tests only. Besides the
said tests, Half Yearly and Annual Examination will be held as follows:

General Rules:
-
Any student found to have used unfair means
before, during or after the examination will be awarded zero in that paper.
-
Absence without notice and without valid
reason in any examination or part thereof, excludes a student from being
reckoned in the order of merit or rank in the examination.
-
Application for verification of marks/grades
in exceptional cases may be considered at the discretion of the Head of the
School on payment of the requisite fee. However, answer scripts in such cases
will not be shown to the parents/guardians or pupils. In such cases the
applicant should be ready to agree with the variation of marks.

Minimum of 75% attendance is essential for
appearing in the Board's Annual Examination. Absence with prior permission is not counted as
'Presence'. Students having less than 75% attendance in any class
will not be allowed to appear in the Annual examination except on medical
grounds.

A pupil who fails twice in the same class in
the cumulative assessment shall not be allowed to continue in the school under
any circumstances.

A pupil who fails in the Board's Final
Examination shall not be admitted in the school. He/she will have to appear
for the Board's Final Examination as a private candidate.

After Half Yearly Examination, the Progress
Report of the students will be sent to the parent/guardian to be returned
after perusal and
signature of the parent.

The students will not be allowed to Ieave the
examination hall during the examination.

Question papers and answer books will be one
and the same in all the examinations for Classes I and V. Space will be
provided for writing answers.

Students of class VI onwards will have printed
question papers and separate answer books.
-
Appearing for the Annual Exam is compulsory.
PROMOTION RULES
Continuous Assessment Policy:
The final assessment of the pupil for promotion excluding CBSE Exam will
be based on a maximum of 100 marks in each subject (English, Hindi, Maths,
Science, Social Science, 3rd language, Comp Sc. & Physical & Health education)

* A student must secure at least 35% marks separately in
Continuous Assessment as well as in the Annual Examination. One has to pass in
continuous assessment and annual examination separately in the subjects marked
with (*).

Classes VI to VIII
- To pass the exam, a student must obtain not less than 35% marks in each
subject and 35% in the aggregate. A candidate failing in only one subject may be
granted promotion, provided he/she has secured at least 30% marks in the subject
in which he/she has failed, but has secured the aggregate of 35%.
- For Class VIII only -If a child has secured 35% in all subjects except third
language and has secured at least 33% in the subject, he may be deemed to have
passed. But if a student scores between 30 and 33 in the third language, he/she
will have to take a retest in the subject in June 2006, despite having secured
35% in every subject and 35% in the aggregate. The marks obtained in the retest
alone will be considered for promotion.

Classes IX
- To pass the exam, a student must obtain not less than 35% marks in each
of the subject taught and 40% marks in the aggregate. A student securing an
aggregate of 40%, but failing in two subjects with a minimum of 30% in each of
the subjects will have to take retest in the subjects. A student having 40% in
the aggregate but failing in one subject is eligible for a retest irrespective
of marks scored in the subject. The retest will be held in the last week of
April 2006 (tentative) and promotion depends only on whether or not he/she
secures 35% marks in the retest. Marks obtained in the retest alone will be
considered for promotion.
- In case a student gets 35% in each subject and does not get 40% in aggregate
he may take a retest in two subjects of his choice and score marks enough to get
to the aggregate (of all the subjects) to be 40%.

For all Classes
- Passing in Art, Craft (for primary classes) and Music on the basis of continuous evaluation is
compulsory to get a rank and be promoted to the next higher class.
- To pass, a student has to score at least 35% marks in both Physical Education
and Computer Science. Mark in these subjects will be added to reckon the
position in the merit list.
- If a student does not appear for the Unit Test / Half Yearly / Annual
Examination, he/she will be considered to have scored zero in the testing
programme except for absence on
account of sickness, subject to the discretion of the principal.
- For Classes VI to VIII
Marks up to 25 will be awarded to the students of Classes VI to IX spread
over different subjects for excellence in sports, games and NCC at different levels.
But not more than 10 marks will be added to a subject.
Result of Annual Examination – Primary Classes - Awarding of overall grades
The result of primary classes will be declared on the basis of the following
5 grades obtained by the students in each subject in the Annual Examination
only. No weightage wilI be given for the Unit Tests and Half Yearly
Examinations.
However, the performance in these tests/examination will count in deciding the
eligibility of the student to appear in the annual examination.
