ABOUT US

Atomic Energy Central Schools are run and managed by the Atomic Energy Education Society, a Central Autonomous Body, under the Department of Atomic Energy. The Society’s Governing Council consists of members who are Senior Officers and Scientists/ engineers of the Department of Atomic Energy.

At present the Society is running schools at Anushaktinagar (Mumbai), Tarapur (Maharastra), Hydrabad, Manuguru (A.P.), Jaduguda, Narwapahar (Jharkhand), Narora (U.P.), Kakrapar (Gujarat), OSCOM (Orissa), Indore (M.P.), Rawatbhata (Rajshtan), Kalpakam. Anupuram, Koodankulam (Tamil Nadu) Kaiga, Mysore (Karnataka). 

The syllabus and scheme of studies adopted by the school for classes up to X are on the pattern of Centrals Schools. Classes XI and XII are affiliated, depending on the local conditions at each centre, either to the local board or CBSE New Delhi.Facilities for KG classes are provided at some centres, where sufficient strength is available. K.G. classes are being gradually integrated into the main stream of AEES.

GENERAL INFORMATION:The AEC Schools aim at giving an allround education, liberal and technical, physical and spiritual to all pupils irrespective of religion, race and caste.

AEC Schools have Classes from I to X and prepare pupils for the All India Secondary School Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Shiksha Kendra, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, New Delhi.

 In Mumbai and Tarapur, Classes XI and XII are affiliated to the Maharastra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education, Mumbai. In  Hydrabad and Manuguru Classes XI & XII are affiliated to the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh. In Kalpakkam, they are affiliated to All India Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE, New Delhi. 

The Academic year begins on 1st May 2004 and ends on the 30th April 2005.
