Atomic EnergyJunior College, Mumbai, is managed by Atomic Energy Education Society, Mumbai, an autonomous Body under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India.

AEES is governed by a Governing Council consisting of members of the Department of Atomic Energy. At present AEES mans the Schools at Anushakthi Nagar and Tarapur ( Maharastra), Hyderabad and Manuguru (Andhra pradesh), Narora (Uttarpradesh), Kakrapar (Gujarat), Oscam(Orissa), Indore (Madhyapradhesh), Rawathbhata(Rajasthan), Anupuram, Kalpakkam and Kudangulam(Tamilnadu), Kaiga and Mysore(Karnataka), Jaduguda and Narwapahar(Jharkhand).

The school started in 1971 as a Senior Secondary school catering to the higher classes and was affiliated to CBSE. In 1976, it was converted to a Junior College with XI and XII classes only. In 1980 it was affiliated to Maharashtra Stated Board. The Vocational streams were started in 1983. Additional classrooms and laboratories were constructed in 1985. The new library was constructed in 1997.

AEJC with the role aim of imparting all round education- technical, physical, mental, business and moral - to all the pupils irrespective of their religion, caste and creed, has classes XI and XII affiliated to the M.S.Board with Science (Vocational and General) and Commerce streams. We have got the total strength of 1092 students.

The college has well equipped Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Electronics, Electrical Maintenance, Computer and Info.Tech Laboratories. It also has a well equipped library with about 12,00 books in various categories. The college adopts a physical education programme which will train the students in various sport and also conducts inter-house events. The college also caters to the co-curricular activities of the students through various CCA programmes.

The college is smoothly manned by a team of one Principal, one Vice-Principal,45 Post Graduate teachers, 4 Trained Graduate Teachers, 2 Librarians, 11 Lab assistants, 4 Office staff and 7 Group-D staff. The total staff strength as on today is 75.

The academic session starts on the first of June every year and ends on the thirtieth of April of the following year. The medium of instruction is English only.
