Holistic education incorporates physical, mental and emotional growth along with psychic and spiritual growth . If this is true, sports takes a very important position in a student's life. The sylvan and proactive environment could spoil the visorous reality of real life. Realizing this mantra, the sports activities in AECS is a routine one. Specialised and renowned coaches volumteer to visit the classes Inter-AECS competitions are held annually to exhibit and bring out abilities and talents. Not only that, regular PETs provide coaching in various games to compete with the national equals. Our schools compete at Taluk, District levels and have come up as a winners in many events. National level players too, are in the moulding. Consistent training would result in this great feat.

The Atomic Energy Education Society has implemented a three-fold common sports programme for all AEC Schools and Junior colleges based on the objectives of physical education viz.

  • Physical fitness for all students through regular yoga exercises in the morning assembly
  • Participation in at least one game/sport after school hours on a regular basis with a minimum of one hour a week for each student of the secondary school
  • Selection of talented students and provide necessary expertise to them for participating at National competition.

The students are trained in athletics, badminton, basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, lawn tennis, volleyball, hockey and kho-kho.

Keeping the above objectives in mind All India Inter AECS sports meet is organized every year at different centers in Basketball, volleyball, table tennis and athletics alternately. The tournament is held at two levels – Zonal and National. All the AEC Schools and junior colleges have been divided in to four zones as given below:
